Walt Disney World - Part II

The Magic Kingdom is decorated for fall.  Some nights the park closes and those with specially-purchased tickets can attend "Mickey's Scary Halloween Party."  We plan to come back next September to attend it.

A Disney photographer was taking pictures in between sets of the above pumpkins with the Castle in the background.  As I was hurrying  to get in the pose, I did't lift one foot high enough and fell over the curb.  What a way to begin the day!  I skinned by elbow and the heels of both hands  Everyone helped me up and we were glad I didn't break anything!
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is Aidan's favorite ride so we rode it first.  It was fun.

They is a lot of construction and remodeling going on at Disney World in preparation for the 50th year in 2021.  This is the new sign at the entrance to Tomorrow Land  While in Tomorrow Land, we also rode the Carousel of Progress which we had ridden in the 1980's.  It has been updated to include a family from the 2000's.  This family has computers and other more things.

We wanted to see the 2:00 parade so we ate lunch at Pecos Bill's.  It was packed but we finally found a table.  The food was very good but expensive.  Linda had brought cokes for everyone which saved us $5 a drink.  We found a shady place to watch the parade across the street from Hall of Presidents.  We haven't been there in years, but John says all the presidents including President Trump is there.

Here comes the parade!

I didn't know all of the Disney characters, but Aidan and Katie did.  The head in the middle of the picture with the pink ears is Katie.

After the parade we rode "It's a Small World."  It is very cute and relaxing to ride along the  boat ride through these tiny children singing in many different languages "It's a Small World.":

After awhile that song gets stuck in your held

The final scene in the ride are these flowers wishing riders goodbye in all the languages the children represented.

We went into the Haunted Mansion.

We also rode Peter Pan's Flight and  The Little Mermaid Under the Sea."As we were waiting in line the sky kept getting darker and darker.  It was time for the afternoon rain storm  We were thankful when the line snaked itself inside.  During that time the skies opened up and rained  We stayed nice and dry

Our last ride of the day was Splash Mountain.  We waited in line over an hour.  Needless to say everyone was getting grumpy.  We had a fast pass for the handicapped and still had to wait over an hour.  After that ride and some ice cream we decided to call it a day.

It was a fun day.  It was hot but you just kept moving along and tried not to think about it.  Carol and I paid $140 a piece for tickets into this one park.  John said it was special pricing for Saturday and the week of Halloween.   He said during the week and in between holidays, it is less expensive.  It really is cheaper to buy longer term tickets and definitely more convenient to stay in the park.    We have reservations for September in 2020 and will be staying at Ft. Wilderness.

We are so glad that we got to go to Magic Kingdom with Katie and Aidan.  They love Walt Disney World and were happy to share that love with us.
