Roadtalking through the Rainy hills of Alabama

All I can say is, "What a day!" Woke up at 6:00 to the sound of rain hitting on the roof of the motorhome.  This was to be a preview of the day.  On the road by 7:30 and almost immediately it began to rain harder.  As we drove south on I-65, we would run into bands of very heavy rain alternating with lighter rain.  When the rain was heavy, we could barely see.  Fortunately most people slowed down and turned on their emergency flasher lights; however, there are always the crazies who seem to take great pleasure in driving faster and weaving into and out of the heavy traffic.  I have 100 percent confidence in Carol's driving but with the crazies on the road, I managed to use my own brake many, many times.  We did not realize how mountainous the terrain was in this part of Alabama. These are not Rocky Mountain high mountains but high enough to cause a lot of downshifting of the motorhome as we climbed up and then add that to heavy rain...it was stressful!

This was some of the roadtalking that was heard in the motorhome as we drove south through the rain.  "Come on people, can't you see that the light is green."  "Don't you know how to use the entrance ramp on the interstate.  You are suppose to speed up to the traffic speed, not slow down."  "Can't he see that with a motorhome and toad+ I need more space to slow down."  Carol to me, "You can take your foot off the brake.  I wasn't going to hit him."  "I could use a little less rain."  "Is it ever going to stop raining?"   "You need to be in the left lane or you need to be in the right lane."   "Thank you, Lord!"

A quick picture of Number 4 campsite in Texas T Campground, Tennessee.

This was our view when it wasn't raining.

Once or twice, very briefly, we saw the blue sky.

We are set up at Hidden Hollow RV Park about 10 miles south of Dothan, Alabama.  It is set up for larger RVs.  It is not set up for tents or pop-ups.  All sites are well spaced, pull-throughs with full hook-up and concrete pads.  Each site even has it's own trash can.  The best part is that you get all of this for only $33 per night. The showers are wonderful. The shower itself is larger than the bathroom in our motorhome. We arrived around 3:00, got set-up and were able to unwind outside.  We took a walk around the park to help unwind from the stress of the day.  The only negative we have found is the fact that the pads slope on one side but some leveling pads took care of that.  We would definitely stay here again.

I can't resist a picture of the American flag.
This park has unusual wildlife...alligators!

This was taken on our walk at the end of the park.  The nose of our motorhome can be seen.  The first building is the showers/restrooms/laundry.  The larger building is a lodge.

As I write this, it is raining again.  I just checked the radar map of Florida and where we are headed tomorrow and guess what....more rain!!
