While Hunter was at Vision Camp, we took Keegan to Lincoln to a couple of the Lincoln sites. Above and below are pix of the Lincoln Home. It is the only home Lincoln ever owned. |
Next stop was the Oak Ridge Cemetery where Lincoln, Mary and three sons are buried. |
Lincoln's Tomb |
You cannot visit the tomb without rubbing the nose of Lincoln. |
The original place of burial before the larger monument was built. |
The farm is divided into three different areas: pork, cow and crops. In the pig area there is a "Three Little Pigs" house. This was taken inside the pig's house. |
This little pig is only a few minutes old. On the pork tour, we saw the pigs at all ages of their life. |
We also toured the cow/dairy area. This is a merry-go-round in one of the cow buildings. |
This is a climbing wall in the shape of a milk carton. |
The boys in harness so they could bounce high. |
Another day we went to Aikman Wildlife Adveneture in Arcola, Illinois. This is located at the old Rockhome Gardens. |
A few of the animals in the feeding area. |
There were two hyenas who enjoyed playing with sticks like a dog would. |
This huge wooden rocking chair is a hold over from Rockhome Gardens. |
Some of the animals we saw on the drive-through. |
The Wildlife Adventure is located in the heart of an Amish community. We saw several Amish traveling along the roads. |
