Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park (Continued)

This picture and those following were taken as we hiked around Manzanita Lake.

Although this tree is dead, it supports new growth of moss.

We saw squirrels and chipmunks carrying pine cones as big as them.  They must be getting ready for winter.  They pull the outsides off the pine cones and eat the inside of the pine cone.  This tree was covered with the leftover pieces of the pine cones.

This is a Golden-Mantled Chipmunk. His head and neck are golden colored.

We love this campground.   Although  the space it uses for sites is small, there is a huge wooded area set up for all things kids would like.   This is a paved basketball court.

This is the play area for dogs.  It is set up for dogs to do agility.  All Sandy does is smell around.

There are trails for bicyclists with small hills to ride over.

This hill is has a double bump.

Above and below are the swings.  They are both huge.
Carol enjoyed the swing.

It has a small oval track for remote controlled race cars.

There was a box of tarps and bungee cords nearby for kids to use their imaginations building forts.
This is a stump that someone was able to the top of it into a bird  house.
Someone had a little  trouble getting their RV into the area for registration.  Those rocks were big so they must have had a bumpy ride.

Their mailbox indicate that the KOA can receive both regular mail and airmail.
The entrance to the park was lined with small American flags.
We stayed here two nights and one day but would stay here again.
