Scenes from the Road: Torrey to Moab

Our final morning started out with a nice sunrise.  The temperature was not as cold (37 degrees) but the wind blew and rocked the motorhome.  It was still blowing as we were loading up the car.  We pulled out of the campground around 9:00 a.m.  As we were packing up, Carol noticed that one of the tires was low so we knew that we would have to find somewhere to put air in it.

This mountain is in the west but, the clouds around it were pink and the mountain itself, grew brighter as the sun came up.

Carol noticed this "sheriff" car the first day we were here.  He figured out that it is a fake patrol car and the "sheriff" inside is not real either.  I am sure at first glance, most people take their foot off the accelerator and slow down.  This car sat here every day we drove the road through Torrey.

We took Highway 24 through the park and back onto Interstate 70 east.

We began to see snow on the mountains east of Torrey.

We arrived in Moab and are camped at Spanish Trail RV Park.  We have a great spot, nice and long and flat.  We unhooked the dolly, unloaded the car and took the motorhome across the street to a service station with air.  As he was airing up the outside tire of the pair, he discovered that the inside tire was totally flat.  This situation required additional help other than air.  We found Chip's Tire Pros and they were very quick to look at the situation and tell us we needed a new tire to replace the flat one.   We were told that the reason the outside tire looked like it needed air was because it was bearing the entire load.  We had already talked about getting a new set of tires before we went out again but the shop only had one Michelin in stock so we just replaced the flat tire.  We don't know how long the tire had been flat but are thankful that Carol found it when he did and we got it replaced.
Chip's had a "Tow-mater in their parking lot.

This is site Number 514.

The temperatures seem warmer.  We haven't turned the heat on.  I did laundry after supper so we have clean clothes for another 10 days.  Tomorrow we plan to go to Arches National Park.
