Hurricane Ian Is Coming

We made the decision to head for home tomorrow morning.  It is supposed to hit later tomorrow and affect Winter Haven through Thursday.  We didn't want to head for Key West and get cut off from the rest of the state and the ferry had been canceled, and John and Linda told us that it is no fun to sit in the house and watch the storm outside.  So...we decided to head on back to Decatur, Illinois.  We are not going back the way we came down and will try to visit some of the places we eliminated earlier.  I made reservations for Savannah and Columbia and we will see where we go from there.

Grandma and Grandpa with the grand pets, Pixie and Seeley.

The weatherman is pointing out the projected track of what is soon to be Category Four Hurricane Ian.

We took Aiden to school and John to work and I saw this long building with another tiny building on top.

This is Aiden being walked into his school.  Aiden is a Freshman in high school.

After we dropped everyone off we went to Walmart to a few things and to top our gas tank off so we would have a full tank for tomorrow and our flight from the state.  Most of the water was sold out.  I have seen several of these trees along the streets.  I don't know what they are called, but the blooms are pretty.

We brought this rock from Illinois on one of our trips to Florida.  It came from John's Great-Grandpa John Freeman's home place near Louisville, Illinois.  I think transplanted very nicely.

John is outside securing all lose items in anticipation of Ian.  We will spend the night with John and Family, take John to work, and then turn the car north.  It has been a short trip but time well-spent.
The schools in Winter Haven are canceled for Tuesday and Wednesday so the building can be used as storm shelter.

Storm clouds are beginning to gather over the neighborhood.
