The conversation of the day is the impending tropical storm Ian. Everyone is wondering if it will be upgraded to a hurricane and where and when it will make landfall. Carol and I are anxious for those questions to be answered because it will affect Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the next week. In the meantime, the skies are a beautiful blue with occasional white puffy clouds.
We arrived at John and Family about 6:30. It was very good to see them all including Pixie the dog and Seeley the cat. Again the conversation turned to Ian and where it would land. Right now it seems that it will hit Key West and the all of the keys. That is a bummer. We have made many changes to our original trip itinerary but the one highlight that always remained was Key West and the Yankee Freedom Ferry to Dry Tortugas National Park. This is the only remaining item from the original trip plan. It will be very ironic that we won't be able to visit the park after working so carefully to preserve it for the trip. So far 2022 has been a very quiet hurricane season and now all of a sudden, it heats up during the only three nights and two days that we will be in the Keys. Linda says that the hardest part of a hurricane and waiting to see where and when it is going to track. I say amen to that! For right now we know that the ferry has been canceled for Monday and Tuesday. It be wait and see for Wednesday which is the day we have ferry tickets.
We are spend two days with John and Family and then were going to Key West on Monday. Maybe tomorrow we will know something more.
