A Rainy Day

Woke up and all had breakfast before packing up the motorhome.  Unfortunately, by the time we started to pack up, it started raining....and that was the story for the rest of the day.  We left the campground at 9:15 for what we thought would be a 3-4 hour trip.  Hunter used his GPS and got us from the campground unto the Pennsylvania Turnpike.  Our first stop was for gas.  We stopped at a rest area for a sandwich lunch.  We continued to drive on in the rain.

This is papaw after eating his breakfast...on his device!

This was the view from the front window of the motorhome for most of the day.

This is the Allegheny Tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Inside the tunnel and no rain!

More rain!

Even more rain!

Finally arrived at our campground for the next six nights and five days.  We are in Site 733.  This is a great campground.  There is so much to do at the park but we may not do any of them because we will be spending our time in Washington, D.C.  Papaw and I attended an introductory meeting about the park, Washington, DC and the Metro.  It was very informational.  We could have come here without any plans or info and they would take care of us.  We would definitely stay here again.  The lady leading the the meeting told us about a couple of free things that we didn't even know about that we want to visit.

Thankfully, when we arrived at the campground, it finally stopped raining.  We are supper and went to the store for ice cream.  Getting ice cream for dessert has always been a tradition but tonight was the first time we have been able to do it.  I am sure when I finish this blog, the cards will come out.   Oh oh!  I hear thunder....it may have more rain!
