Around Iowa State University with Hunter

In yesterday's blog I was complaining about a cold water shower because Carol had taken one last night.  This morning I took a cold shower but later in the morning I found this sign on the restroom door:

I hope it was the campground host who posted this note for the ranger who repairs things and not some other disgruntled camper.

Around noon we began to pack up things and load the car for what we thought would be a three-hour drive to our next stop Ledges State Park.  Check-in time for the park is 4 p.m.  By 2:30 we were nearly there so I called the park to see if we could check in before the 4:00 p.m. time.  Thankfully, I was told yes, so we were able to set up camp.
This is site #6.  It is a great pull-through spot.  It is very secluded and should be in the shade a lot of the time.

Beardshear Hall.  I love the old stately buildings on campus.

The clock tower can be seen and heard all over campus.  No one should be late for classes.

This Zodiac mosaic is on the floor in the entranceway of the Memorial Union Building.  According to Hunter you should  not step on the zodiac mosaic or you will fail your next test.  We all stepped over the Zodiac.

This is Curtiss Hall.  Hunter has Global History of Aviation in this building.

Here is Hunter the college student and Papaw the pretend student.

Beautiful light fixture on Curtiss Hall.

College of Engineering

This water tower was the first steel water tower built west of the Mississippi River.  It was designed by the first dean of the engineering department.

This is where Hunter will eventually have all of his classes.  He is anxious for that day.

As we were driving back to camp, the sky showed us a beautiful sunset.

Hunter wanted to have cookies from Crumbl Cookies for dessert so we stopped by a shop.  Papaw and I loved them.  Hunter says there is one in Springfield so we may have to visit it.  Back in camp, ate supper, played cards, did my blog, and then Papaw and I are going to bed.  It has been a good day.
