Saying Goodbye

The rain began about 4:30 yesterday evening and continued for most of the night and morning.  I am happy for the Floridians who may need the rain but the tourists would be happy if it let up.  When we left John and Linda's yesterday, we made plans to go out to eat lunch an spend a little time afterwards with them before saying goodbye.

We pass this McDonalds every day as we drive to John and Linda's.  I love the Golden Arches.  The tiny hamburger man in the center of the sign arch is carrying a sign that says "Mr. Speedy."  I think some McDonalds have left their original roots of being speedy.

We also pass this pet boarding/grooming business every day.  I love the mask on the dog.

Aidan was not having a good day so we ordered takeout and ate at their house.  We ordered BBQ from Sonny's BBQ.  Linda told us that Sonny's has been around since the 60's and is a favorite of the locals.  We could see why because it was delicious.  We ordered the Family Feast and got BBQ chicken, pulled pork, ribs,  and brisket along with three sides.  It was a feast.  We said our final goodbyes and gave our last hugs mid-afternoon and returned to camp.  We want to be on the road by 8 because we have nearly 400 miles to drive tomorrow and some of that driving time will be through Orlando during the morning rush hour.

We did things we could do so that tomorrow we will only have the basic stuff to pack up.  When we got back to camp, it seemed cooler so we shut the air conditioner off and opened windows.  This was the first time since we got into Florida that the air has been off.  We have had a great time being with John and Family these last five days.   With them as guides we were able to discover more about this part of Florida.  We also learned that you don't have to go to Disney World to have a good time here.  How ironic that plans had been to spend six days at Disney this year and instead, we did not go at all.  Covid strikes again!!
