Back to Illinois

Up early to eat breakfast and get on the road.  We left the motel at 7:30 a.m.

As we drove east on State Highway 30, the sun and  clouds put on a beautiful show for us.

No trip on I-80 is complete without stopping at Iowa 80, the world's largest truckstop.  This trip we stopped on the way west and on the way east.

We got home at 2:00 p.m. with a Papa Murphy's Pizza in hand for a mid-afternoon lunch/supper.  I got busy unpacking and sorting laundry.  Now that we have a new septic system, I can do all the laundry this evening.  Carol watered the new grass that has been planted over the new laterals/berm when we were gone.  Thanks to Jason, the new grass was watered the days we were gone on our trip.  Now it will be Carol's job to keep it up.

It was a good trip.  We made many new memories and remembered many sweet old memories.  We saw so many changes to the old places we had spent the first three years of our marriage.  We are blessed to have 60 years of marriage and be physically/mentally able to take this trip to those places that our special in our memories.
