Out with the Old and in with the New

In May we made a big and, more then likely, the final upgrade in our camping style.  We brought a used motorhome.  We had been talking about a motorhome for a year or two but got serious this spring.  We had said that we wouldn't purchase one unless we found one that we would recognize as "The One" immediately.   We both agreed that this 34-foot Fleetwood Bounder was "The One."   It is 11 years old so it is definitely used.  It has three slides (two are opposing), automatic levelers, and a full queen bed, which were on our list of "must haves."  Instead of a couch it has two comfy recliner/rockers...one for each of us to fall asleep in the evenings!

We had to take it out so the first weekend we had free, so we went to Walnut Point State Park.  It didn't matter that the temps were in the 90's and heat indexes were even higher.  We had new air conditioners to try out.  The first day we had it in the driveway, we discovered the air conditioners didn't work so they were replaced.  This weekend we discovered the refrigerator was not working.  Fortunately, it was under warranty, so that is being fixed.  Despite the repairs/replacements we still love the motorhome.  We are looking forward to many road trips in it.  We have a couple of short trips planned.  One for four days at the end of June back to Walnut Point and another for three days at the end of July with the grandboys to Pere Marquette State Park.

A final hookup for a good camper.  We had some great trips in this trailer.

Our first trip in our motorhome at Walnut Point State Park.

This was a short trip but long enough to let us know that we will love camping in a motorhome.
